A surprise gift. . .

I am very surprised to learn that Ethel Piper has given me her points. I am so sorry that things went awry with her engagement. I am very grateful for her support.

I think I solved the puzzle.....

Big Help

Hello all. I am excited to say that my niece is going to assist me with my tasks. She is a wonderful young woman. So don't mistake her for me (ha! ha!) when I upload pictures of completed tasks.

More Crocheting Taks

I am so gratful to be back in the Priestly Industries competition.   This past week, I have been busily crocheting toys to give to children at my church for Easter.   They were very excited to get them. I felt it was inappropriate to take pictures at church, but here's a sample of one of the toys.

Too Good Too Be True

I am embarrassed and sad to announce that I, in fact, did not win the lottery. Instead, I'm just a silly, gullible old lady who lost everything to some Nigerian scam.  I have petitioned Mr. Priestly and I hope he will allow me back in the competition.  Obviously, the 10 billion dollars would do a great deal to help me recover financially. More importantly it will help me to make an impact on the world and perhaps recover some self-respect.

Thank-you.

BIG NEWS!

If bad things come in threes what happens when you get two wonderful opportunities? First, I am chosen to participate in the Priestly Industries competition and now I can announce something amazing. I won the lottery. I can't believe it! Because of this great fortune, I will bow out of the competition to allow someone in more need to compete. Thank you all for your support.

First Tasks

Well. I'm starting my tasks.  I'm a part of a group that knits lap quilts and afghans for the elderly. I just finished this one and will give to a nice lady tomorrow. I feel kind of strange posting this since its something I just like to do.  I don't feel right getting attention for it, but I know that this opportunity could help even more people.

Knitting

I am much newer to knitting than crochet. I've enjoyed the transition from hooks to needles. Here's some of my work. Forgive the blurriness, still learning how to use my camera.

Thoughts on Knots

I first learned to crochet as a child. My great-grandmother sat with on many afternoons and taught me basics. These times were very special for me, it was very rare in a family with dozens of cousins to get one-on-one time with my Granny. For many years, I stopped crocheting and only as I neared retirement did I remember the satisfaction that comes with hand-crafted work. I have also taken up knitting and hope to further improve my two-needle skills. Later this week I will post some of my Granny's beautiful work.

The Best of Intentions

I created this blog over almost a month ago with a plan to update semi-weekly. Unfortunately, my sixty-something body wasn't cooperative. No reason to dwell on the negative here. This blog is supposed to be about crafts and fun.

I set up an etsy account and hope to buy and sell some great work. Pictures coming soon.
